yeah but why blacksanta specifically XD
We wanted something which would start conversations in pre game lobbies and sure enough it did. Plus it was just really funny when we considered the idea of santa being black (we're african)

Because, naturally, my name is not Joseph.

A proper response.

So back in the day, when I could actually do things without getting injured, I played a lot of cricket. I made my seniors debut when I was  barely 14, so most of my teammates were a lot older than me. A few years in, I was probably playing at a grade or two higher than where I should have been playing out of necessity (a lack of wicket keepers in our club at the time). So when I did something well, people used to say "good, Nick" (because my actual name is Nick) as encouragement. One bloke thought that that sounded a bit like "Gutnick" in rapid speech. Now (and I hope you're following), there is a guy called Joseph Gutnick. In the late 1990s/early 2000s, he was President of the Melbourne Football Club, which I support very heartily. Hence, Joseph. It usually became Joey, which also had the double meaning of me being much younger than most of my teammates (as in a young kangaroo). The name really only stuck for a short time because I then had to give up cricket due to injuries, so nobody calls me that now (except for Brenden accidentally hahaha). I've sort of adopted it as a pseudonym, though.

And 41 was my cricket playing shirt number.

So there you go!

^He's lying.  That cricket shirt thing is just a cover-up.  '41 is actually his birth year, as he's reluctantly admitted to me before, and let me tell you, he looks his age too.  Fact.

(And I have both substantial in-person and photographic proof).

... and yeah.  If only we didn't censor things round here, that's what I should've changed his name to... JosephFuckNick.  Classic Brenden.

My name on this forum was originally 'amalgam', which I also use on some other internet sites. I just probably wanted a boring name, and I use actual and made-up words as my internet usernames most of the time. Funnily enough, I'm actually enrolled in a dentistry course now, but I came up with the name long before then (either that, or my subconscious is way ahead of my conscious mind).

Some time after I joined, I wanted to write a unit review for a subject I did at Monash University. The subject featured a lot of embryology. However, it so happened that the string of letters 'yolo' was blocked in all posts at that time, even if the string was contained in a larger word. Of course, this made it hard to write a review of embrYOLOgy, so I begged the mod/admin team to temporarily suspend the blanket ban, and thus help me post. Grudgingly, they did ... and also changed my name to 'yologam' instead.

Some months after that, the mods/admins found out that I was happy with the grades I had for that semester of uni, and again changed my name to nerdgam. From there, it was only a short step before they changed my name to what it is currently.

I'm almost tempted to post and help out more so I can eventually become a mod and exercise a most terrible revenge on the people who altered my name ... but let's face it, they'll probably be long gone by then, and I'll just be a sad, cranky, spiteful old codger  :(

to be honest, i kinda like my name now

Seeing as Bookworm101 already dug up this thread, ill just add to it by saying "studybuddy777" was my bos username (before i changed parties :P), after changing it from "bioboy123" and "biobuddy123". I then picked 777 because I'm lucky like that and like the number 7
OFFTOPIC:
Spoiler
Anyone put crosses through their sevens? Like a line on the lower part of the 7?

Anyway.. someone had already claimed studybuddy777 so i just added another 7.
Lol
