Have you had your English essay published by VCAA?

I'm very curious to know if anyone here has had one (or more!) or their essays that they wrote for a VCAA end of year English exam actually published in the assessor's report.

The assessor's report for 2012 English says "Note: Student responses reproduced herein have not been corrected for grammar, spelling or factual information.
The student responses provided below are presented for illustrative and informative reasons and they may form the basis of profitable discussions."

It sounds amazing to have your essay published by VCAA, and knowing that so many future students would read it and use it as veritable discussion and analysis.

That'd actually be pretty crazy. I'd love it if someone here had, but I doubt it. The chances of checking the assessor's report after having your English essay published I think would be astronomically low. Unless they notified you.

Or unless you're good enough to be expecting.

I think they generally don't really post pieces with full marks on them. I know I gave the language analysis piece a 7.5/10. Even so, there are something like 120 students every year, I don't know why anyone would ever actually /expect/ to be the one essay that VCAA chooses.

...no offence, forgottenC.

Sadly, they didn't post a InterpreterOfMaladies essay up on the ESL-Report, I know someone who got 20/20 with that text and would've been overly happy to see his essay up there.

The English/ESL reports have essays that get in the 15-16 range on the examiner's reports, because they don't want to intimidate people with essays that are too good.  Seriously.  =/

(*cough*I am in the 2009 Classics report*cough*)

I'm not sure if you're serious, but there are thousands of people who will get an A+ for their English exam, but either way, bad luck!

"Intimidate" people, haha, seriously though, they do say "high scoring responses" or something to that effect. But having read a lot of the English ones, they're good, but not as great as some of the best essays I have read.

Congrats on the Classics though, your work has been etched in the annals of VCAA history for all to see ;)
