The exams are much more important in further since there are two. SAC rank is still important but you have the whole year to recover.

14/20 is better than bombing it completely. I wouldn't worry at all :) Better to mistakes now and correct them rather than making the same mistakes in November.

Pick yourself up and get back out there! You can definitely still get 40+!
It's only the first SAC- don't jump to rash conclusions. :)

Hey! Not to worry at all, to be honest I was in actually your position last year, except with Methods...I completely screwed up my first sac 13/20 i think? But I still managed an okay score in the end, because I learned from errors and also as MJROmeo said the exams are more important i guess. So yea don't worry too much, you'll be fine  :)

After my first FM SAC I asked to go unscored because I thought I'd done so badly I wouldn't score more than 30. I also got 15/20 on Matrices due to stupid errors... However, the last SAC of the year was rushed and everyone did quite badly and I scored like 19/20, instantaneous rank boost. Ended up the only 40+ in the year level. Keep at it, VCE is a fickle game.

Don't stress. Further is very easy to stuff up on.

I saw a quote on AN recently where someone said something like "Further maths isn't about intelligence, it's about being consistant and making no mistakes."

which I totally agree with. And don't worry, I also stuffed up my first FM sac (12\15) but scoring that low has allowed me to realise what I'm doing wrong and how much harder I have to work in the year!

tl;dr You're fine

how bad? like C+ bad? or bad bad?
Anyways don't sweat it, the exact same thing happened to me on the Business maths SAC where I scored a shocking C+, (that was our second SAC) and there went by position of 1st on cohort to 3rd. But I didn't let that C+ put me down, I was determined to never get that score again and I scored straight A+ in the rest of the SACS and once again became 1st (tied with another person though, cohort was fairly strong).
So what im trying to say is, it doesn't matter if you screwed up, just pick yourself up together and try your hardest, after all it's just one SAC, redeem your pride  in the next SAC!  ;D ;D ;D
