Yeah I thought all the options for the first question were pretty bad.

I can't remember what I put, I think I put indulgence/endurance or something but that still didn't make sense

Nah, I reckon it's almost definitely ambition.  It's basically a process of elimination; indulgence, endurance and misconception are basically unrelated to the picture, whereas ambition is linkable in that the people are pushing each other to get through ala "dog eat dog" style ambition.

^ I put misconception cause one of the definitions in the dictionary looked like the situation depicted =(
I got about 10 of these different to you. Pretty sure that 10 is C and 65 is definitely C
I think 10 is B (three) because MY230 has zero, XXX has no numbers and 24TEE starts with numbers.

Agreed.

Urban Relaxation=Ironic in that there is no such thing given the realities of an ambitious life; in being ambitious one is constantly lusting for more "power" even in their "relaxation" as the people in the picture show.

Something like that.  I just don't think "misconception" is as applicable, given that it's more to do with a false belief, and I think it's a bit of a long stretch to say that the picture is about people who simply don't understand something...

For anyone wanting to compare multi-choice answers ive got a few peoples together in a .xls on bored of studies forum....

Can't be bothered(or dont have time...stupid SACs) to put it up on here, so heres the link:
http://community.boredofstudies.org/406/school-vce/212393/2009-gat-multiple-choice-answers-please.html

And yes we all know its "just the GAT" but it can be very helpful knowing before you get the results for derived scores etc....

(and i agree Q1 is prob Misconception cause of the 'Urban Relaxation'....only i didnt realise that then and put Ambition as well :()

Nah I think most people know about BoS. It's just BoS is too shit-tastic to let anyone refer to VN over there.
