I have been reading this forum for a while now, and it occurred to me that you are the only person who claims to have actually met TrueTears.

Personally, I do not believe that TrueTears exists.
I saw his Semester 2 results, and they don't look like the work of a human being to me.
If TrueTeears exists at all, he is more likely than not, a machine

Every time I try to picture what TrueTears might look like, I conjure up images of the 'Terminator'

Oi Pi, split this topic for Loz's post and put the above few in a new thread. Call it "let's all wank over TT".

Hebrew (44)
Beat you, sucker! :P

I wrote my VCE results down because it seemed to me like what most people were doing - I think I picked a random person and followed their formatting. (Later on, actually, when I added my 2013 subjects, I was kind of just doing what seemed better.) I wasn't expecting (and still surprised and somewhat humbled when they do) anyone to really notice my scores, seeing the extremely high standards set here.

There are some incredible people here, and I think the important thing is to be able to recognise that while not scaring people out of participating in this community, or turning it into some sort of dick-measuring (or ATAR/GPA/whatever) competition.

That's because everyone here only updates their signature with their ATAR if they score 80+, if not, theyjust list their subjects and their uni course (usually)

I feel like it makes sense to have something of your VCE success in your signature, or some other place where people can see it.

If someone wanted a tutor, they would want to see their tutor's qualifications - their Study Scores or ATAR or degree or whatever;
if someone wanted help on the forum with a particular VCE-related question, they would want to see that the person helping them is able to do so, and having your study scores can help to demonstrate this.

Why are there so many high ATARs on AN?
I think lala is right - it's common for someone to share something only if they did well in it.
Also, perhaps it's because the people here are keen for schoolwork, to the point that they join a site that is based around schoolwork, and that their keenness has brought them great success.

I think the issue then, if potential members ARE being scared away by the apparent abundance of academic awesomeness here, is to make them realise that us members are all here to help others out; not to just gloat over past achievement.

It's simply cause for every single subject you got someone on the forum that is super-pro at it. Maybe not some of the LOTES like yiddish or subjects like Industry and Enterprise.
So you always have someone to talk to about the subject even when your class and teacher is shit, or you're doing your subject through distance education. Also seeing other people on the forum with such high scores, makes people from weak school, who don't even know that such scores exist motivated to get similar results.

EDIT: Oh I forgot this is an exalt Thushan thread.
You guys forgot he is extremely modest and calls you genius whilst he is the biggest of us all.

That's just blatantly incorrect. I sure as fuck scored much higher than 80, and I see many people without scores written in their sig that I know scored highly.

Also. Enwiabe, it bothers me that you interpreted my instruction literally. What I meant was "Pi, you should split the thread so we can have a legitimate discussion. Nacho, stop being a dick and wanking over TT, it's embarrassing"

I think you're interpreting him too literally. Obviously not everyone who scores well will post it and not everyone who does comparatively "poorly" will not post it, but most people will probably only publicize their scores if they feel they did well.

OK. Brendinkles, perhaps a little bit of tact :)
