Liked VCE Accounting, so I decided to do BComm and major in accounting.
Turns out uni accounting is a bazillion times better than VCE Accounting.
Was going to go to UoM (had a guaranteed place and a small scholarship), but Monash bribed me.

I think I might be in a similar situation as well. B.Com + $6k a year @ Monash or straight B.Com @ melb? hmm..

I figured my resume would look better this way.
I'm also an excellent driver with a great many number of kilometres clocked up.
Monash is far from my house.

For me, I based my university course around what I enjoyed in high school (as well as other factors; travel time, money, convenience etc.). I believe interest is paramount to success. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do after Year 12 and two years on, I'm probably still just as clueless as to what I'll be doing when I graduate from Monash. Sometimes what you enjoyed in high school might not translate at university level, but there are always options (i.e. transferring or choosing different units). I think that's the beauty of university though. It opens doors for you to explore and try new things, academically and socially.
