after doing a few linguistics competitions, mucking around researching different langauges syntaxes etc. i figured (i always wanted to) that its about time to learn another lote, i was thinking either indonesian, or spanish, i wanted to do swahili (long story LOL, but it isnt as useful)
i was wondering if anyone knows any good language learning programs, or textbooks, even if its for a different language that you have learnt
ive been looking around online but everythings so expensive i want to make sure my money is spent well

oh and i didnt know where to post this, i hope this part of the forums is fine?
cheers guys !

going on gumtree/other sites to find language partners are good. memrise and duolinguo are good. before using these resources it's worth getting a grounding in basic stuff like greetings/numbers/introductions, which you can easily find online. i think when i was trying out spanish a while ago there were a lot of cool podcasts and lectures on iTunes U

Edit: few good resources listed here: Language resources

good luck :D

I think assimil is also a really popular/effective way to study languages as well! might want to supplement that with extra grammar and vocab work through the sites mentioned above, and elsewhere!

Duolingo is online and free to use. I've heard good reports about it.
