What if you're number one rank in a really bad cohort? My Biology cohort is not the strongest, and I'd like to know how that can impact upon my chances of doing well in the subject..

If your a strong student and your rank 1 in your cohort, it shouldn't really matter.

Like schools ranked between 1-20 have a strong cohort; 21-70 medium; 71+ weak?

I suppose so, but I'd think it'd be more based on how well your school fares in that particular subject, so I guess the median SS for biology for your school for the past few years would be a better indicator than just the school rankings. Your school might have a really good biology faculty for example, but a horrible english one.

This isn't always an accurate prediction, and it's really easy to misjudge your cohort. I thought I was in a fairly average cohort because of this, when I was actually in quite an exceptional group for Further.

Yeah this is not accurate at all, my school was ranked like in the 300's yet in certain subjects like biology we had a strong cohort

Also, say I'm number one with a SAC average RAW of 80%. Will that mark not really matter, and it'll only be a mere indication of ranking? Because the SACs we're doing are actually quite difficult in their content AND in the time frame we are given. MY osmosis SAC had 2 bloody experiments run + the write up of the full SAC in 1.5 hours... devastating.

Nah, your raw marks mean nothing at all (apart from determining your ranking of course). The difficulty of SACs vary between schools and so it wouldn't make much sense to have the raw marks count.

Thank goodness - so ultimately, the SACs are ranking the cohort, and the student's SAC marks will be dictated by the exam mark the student obtained corresponding to their position in the ranking. Thank you so much!
