Boston explosions

What a gutless act.
Two explosions were set off at the end of the Boston Marathon, at the moment 2 people have been killed and multiple others injured. Chaotic scenes from the video footage available.
Hasn't been determined whether it was a terrorist attack or not, but in Australian and other international media it would be described as  so.
We live in such a screwed up world... :(
My sympathies go out to the victims and their families in a truly distressing time.

Obama vows to find whoever is responsible.

Still in utter shock about what has happened. After recently having travelled to Boston I can tell you that I felt entirely safe whilst there and when I read the news I had realized that my family and I were staying incredibly close to the affected area. Heart goes out to those affected.

It's interesting this, I've never personally experienced pure shock that changes my concept of what is possible.

For instance, if I throw up a pen, I reasonably expect it to come back down. If I'm in a room, I expect that people will come through the door into or out of the room, there's no provision in my mind for an explosion to occur and kill innocent people.

Things like this just completely re-define your concept of what are the laws of your own world are.

Now everyone knows how drone victims feel. Let me guess Obama is going to invade another nation kill another thousand people, kill a further million through starvation. But hey at least the imaginary suspects got what they deserve hallelujah!

im sorry i sound controversial but if it is a terrorist attack all humanity is lost suddenly it become a million times worst and everything changes blah blah blah

^Do you really think that right now is an appropriate time to politicise things.

Tens of civilians have lost limbs. An 8 year old child died watching his father finish a marathon. Hundreds will now suffer PTSD. And all you think about is politics? Seems like your just some angsty uni kid.

im sorry, but they[media] have exploded this situation sooo much (compared to other situation currently occurring in the  world) i just think its unjust how the media chooses which victims for viewers to empathize and which to HATE.

i mean if this tragedy(which is bad like any other death i don't mean disrespect at all) gets so much attention what about little children who are targeted by drones...

Morale of the story America go with no consequence while these murderers must be hanged with no trial at all even though they deserve it.

lol....

You do realise that a 'terrorist' attack doesn't automatically mean that it's an foreign one right? Considering that investigators have said that the bombs were homemade it is possible it was a domestic attack.
There's no point drawing conclusions until more solid evidence comes out.

Open up another thread for this. It's very disrespectful to throw something like this in this thread. I'm actually interested in what you have to say!

1. im sorry, but they[media] have exploded this situation sooo much (compared to other situation currently occurring in the  world) i just think its unjust how the media chooses which victims for viewers to empathize and which to HATE.

2. i mean if this tragedy(which is bad like any other death i don't mean disrespect at all) gets so much attention what about little children who are targeted by drones...

3. Morale of the story America go with no consequence while these murderers must be hanged with no trial at all even though they deserve it.

1. Yes, it's a harsh reality. It's in human nature. We sympathise with people who we relate to better. Also media is run with the intent of turning over profit for the most part, that is why channel 9 broadcasts rubbish compared to ABC which doesn't have as much profit motive.
2. Really? Little children targetted? It is unfortunate but the nature of modern war means civilians would always be caught in the middle. Not to mention the thousands of American civilians who have been killed in terrorist attacks while they were simply at work trying to make a dollar...
3. Yep that is exactly what they are murderers and terrorists, no idea why you have such sympathy for them.

Anyway. My thoughts are with the victims and all those affected by this horrendous and cowardly act.

Going back on track. It seems in all likelihood though that this was an attack by a perpetrator from overseas, judging by recent history and the fact that a person of interest who has been identified as a Saudi national currently in the US on a student visa. The FBI will be having a press conference at 11:30PMAEST for all those interested in watching, I assume it would be broadcast on all the major news channels (ABC 24, CNN, SKYnews etc.).

Before i tried to post a comment(which failed) about how i take back everything i  said until USA claim it was a terrorist attack. and that i was lead to believe that my USA claimed it was hezbollah who comitted these atrocities.

But what you said before in you comment was as ugly in magnitude as what you think i was trying to get at. and now what you said about it being a student from Saudi oh that glorious hey instead of simply charging that student hey lets invade another country while were at it.

anyways i have derailed this forum so ill stop

If this Saudi national is responsible for the attack, why do you think that America will go and invade?..

history. otherwise i could be overreacting... i mean okay Osama bin laden as an example maybe this crime is no way near in equal magnitude or effect however this whole war on terror came out because of him and many millions more died for the greater good of democracy. i mean even before 9/11 America wanted to invade Iraq but had no excuse and what happened to the weapons of mass destruction did not exist now why did America invade Iraq beats me i mean yeah fuck  Saddam Hussein but that not the greatest reason maybe it had to do with him selling oil in euros which could damage the American petrol dollar idk. i mean i try to keep conspiracy out of all my conversation
