Turkey announced on 14 December 2012 that they would not attend the 2013 competition in Malmö citing dissatisfaction with the rules of the competition. I agree with that...this competition is unfair...nevertheless I have a favourite...Go Azerbaijan!!!
What parts are unfair? Whilst researching the songs I heard that Turkey did a blackout or something for one countries song? Anyone know what happened with all that?

Turkey didn't show Finland's song "marry me" because the girl who sings it kissed her female backup dancer at the end of the song. The kiss had to do with the song's "same sex marriage equality" message, but I guess a country like Turkey is very much against that so they refused to show it.

What parts are unfair?

I think its the part where Eurovision is a completely political contest where countries give each other points based on the nation's relations with each other.

Yes exactly...I haven't watched the contest yet but I'm guessing all the Turks in Europe(Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Belgium) voted for Azerbaijan...so similar things are happening between culturally close countries.

A bit dissatisfied with the songs this year, there were only a few that stood out.

edit: Yes BigAl, likewise with Cyprus-Greece, etc.. etc...

Same.
It was a good year.
Favourites in order: Denmark, Ukraine, Romania, Ireland, Germany, Belgium

Didn't really like the others much. Don't see why everyone was all hyped up about Greece. Didn't like the song much at all.
