Unit 3 Knowledge Needed for Unit 4?

This may be a silly question, but I want to make sure on the holidays I am 100% set for Unit 4 and am wondering what parts of Unit 3 should I make sure I have a very solid understanding of in order to go through Unit 4 effectively.

Motion - Newton's laws.

Electricity - Ohm's law and all that formulas.

Motion is not needed, except maybe for working out the momentum of a photon, but only the basic stuff needs to be retained.

With electricity, you need to remember things like Ohm's law, formula for power, transformers, etc as this comes up in Electric Power (specifically, the section on power transmission).

On last year's exam there was also a question that involved the parallel resistance formula, and that threw quite a few people who had forgotten it. To be safe, make sure you remember the basics.

I mentioned motion - newton's laws because it helps your understanding of magnetism, some of the formulas may seem similar to gravity :)

momentum of a photon is nothing like newtonian momentum :P

but on another note, it's good to go back and look at the wave formula from unit 1 :)

fine, it doesn't :P

but if you forget the photon momentum formula, you can always go back to p=mv and

but but but, E=mc2 is the rest mass and photons don't have rest mass and grrrrrrr :P

You're probably right, I've never done special relativity, but still, the equation works :P
