Ah but did you know the A range is from 234 - 301/400 for the exam?

...but the SAC A+ range is freakin' small.

Wow, that's interesting marking! Doesn't that suggest how difficult the exam is??

We don't get told our SAC results though... just feedback. Is that common? Apparently it's because it's subject quite a bit of moderation.

i don't know if i'd be happier with easier SACs, but i guess easier ones save you a lot of stress during the year! aging society's pretty interesting - what points are you focusing on? i'm focusing mainly on the economic aspect, so i probably won't have time to go into marriages, role of men/women, etc..
how are you finding it? did you get to choose your topic, or did you teacher just choose for you?

^^on that note, what about for a year 11?  I think I need a bit of pushing along in Jap.

BTW, how much work do you year 12 people actually recommend I do by the end of this year?  I've heard MacRob memorises the entire VCE vocab list or something...it scares me.  :(

Finished VCE in 2010 and now teaching professionally. For any inquiries, email me at [email protected].

What textbook are you using? I think by the end of year 11 all VCE grammar should be learnt to a proficient level (if you haven't that's okay, it's still good), so you don't waste time in year 12 learning grammar, but instead practice writing essays in various forms, listening for detail, and practicing speaking, which is where the marks are at =]

You can never ever have enough vocab, but I personally don't think using the VCE vocab list to study is efficient. I recommend writing a short list of words to study in a set period of time (in excel or whatever) or doing what I do, and use Anki http://ichi2.net/anki/ Which is an "intelligent" flashcard software. After using this since the start of this year my vocab has increased significantly =] So you should be able to have the entire VCAA vocab list by exam time easy (as well as much more).

yeah i'm doing mainly economic as well...might go into a little bit about effects on the average jap but yeah other than that just economics...cuz its the easiest to bs about xD. its pretty good, although i've hardly done any work on it..so i better start like..now.  umm the teacher gave us a few topics to choose from, and i chose this. most ppl are doing hikikomori frm mhs though.

lol, and most people are doing shintaishougaisha from macrob. and true, there is a lot to talk about in regards to the japanese economy! the only trouble is the vocab that you have to look up, and it's likely the examiners will be picky and ask you the meaning of a few just to gauge your understanding - today, i was doing my ds and one of my classmates asked me what 'shusseiritsu' was - i hadn't prepared for that beforehand, so that kind of disrupted the flow of my 'regurgitation'. it's tough because while you might know exactly what you're talking about, it's hard to express in japanese ):

btw smrandmazn - this sounds really stupid, but what do you do once you've signed up for the anki site? i'm rather lost

lol is that why you decided to improve the complexion of the unicorn? and LOL hahaha that's a pretty lame call, but funny nonetheless. lol. i still haven't memorised mine completely, while more than half of my class has memorised theirs since april/may! then again, those of us doing aging society in my class only got to start ours last month or so, so we're still finetuning our scripts whilst trying to memorise. if you get western examiners, they'll probably be dead unimpressed, but if you get a native one, they'll probably be pretty impressed! haha, i'm sure you'll be fine (: ganbatte!
