at the end of the day, someone is better than what you're best at
this is probably why drawing makes me weirdly miserable when I look at pro works of art
(but hey I still do it anyway)on a random sidenote, I absolutely hate the competition with asian parents and how smart their kids are - I used to go to Saturday tution for maths and english with a friend and most of the time my friend performed better than I did and I would say "oh good job!" and congratulate her - then her mum would ask how I went and I could sense that she was satisfied that I didn't do as good - but whenever I outperformed my friend she and her mum would say absolutely nothing.
raaaarrrghhhh. I just think it's really annoying whycantpeoplejustbegoodsports. /endrant
Anyway, whenever I had people who did better than me and were subtly pleased that they did better than me I would just say "wow good job, well done" to them and carry on. I just hate it when they dont do the same or keep quiet (usually they find out my mark by peering over my shoulder or something) but at least I know I'm doing the right thing
