Had the SAC today, being completely honest, it was more or less a memorisation regurgitation of the textbook chapter, nothing wrong with that  ;) Felt like Health and Human Development hahaha..  :P

What kind of tricky questions did you get? Edward21?

lol, I had mine too already -last tuesday. We spent <1 week on the topic, since as Edward21 said, it is all regurgitation LOL.

Some qs are similar to past exam qs, so if you're stressing I guess you could look them up, but didn't really have any trouble. The only 'hard' aspect of my sac was a discussion question, about the conditions of equilibrium in the industrial manufacture of H2SO4 comparing with Le Chatelier's principle and condition for increased rate of reaction.
We were given an entire page, so hoping I didn't miss much haha.

Some other stuff on my sac was location of manufacturing plant, concentration vs time graphs and some acid-base multichoice qs.

Good luck! :D

Hmmm, you had to write out the equations for the dehydration of sucrose and formation of ammonium sulfate fertiliser.
There was a big explain conditions for best rate, yield then explain the compromise actually used. Circle what chem hazard it comes under from the MSDS sheet (corrosive!) and explain where SO2 could be sourced from. It really wasn't too hard, my SAC was more or less the content similar to the Heinamann Chemistry 2 chapter :P

Oh and waste/green principles, as with everything else industrial. No real curve balls here

you guys reckon it's reasonable for a teacher to ask you to pull out the enthalpies for each step of the contact process straight out of your head in a SAC?

How could anyone remember considering the ambiguity of what to study for the sac ><

Well, that is pretty dodgy. What school do you go to?

Was this from a QAT sac?
