Let's face it, the structure of sulfuric acid itself is pretty cool. I mean, sulfur with six bonds? That's already outside the scope of VCE. Then you have the fact that concentrated sulfuric acid is an inordinately strong acid; H3SO4+ is stronger than H3O+ which is why the former isn't present in aqueous solution.
Off topic: HF is a weak acid in normal situations but its acidity increases remarkably as its concentration approaches 100% too due to the equilibrium 3HF <=> H2F+ + FHF-. Yep you read right.
Back on topic. Sulfuric acid also dehydrates pretty neatly as well and it's miscible with water. Its "conjugate base" is one of the strongest acids I know of that has a negative charge (HSO4- pKa around 1.99). What else do you want from sulfuric acid?
