Poll

How did the UMAT 2013 go in general? (modesty aside)

Pretty good, I'm pleased with my performance
Alright I guess
Not really sure, could have gone either way
Not too well, not happy with how I went
To be frank, a complete disaster
I didn't sit the UMAT 2013 today but like to respond to polls anyway

Just on the note of S2 discussion:
- The answer to the last "bacardi type of guy" question wasn't that the woman would feel foolish by the end of the night, was it? Because I only realised after I was finished that that was probably extrapolating too much (the other questions sort of indicated that the man was leading her on to get free drinks or whatever, but I don't think that's enough to assume that she would feel a negative emotion when she was very positive throughout the entire extract)
- I feel sorry for the man whose daughter carries on a polite conversation while he's hammering on his emergency buzzer in another room.
Never been so happy to get back to VCE.

It was a man, not a woman. But yeah, don't start discussing the answers to questions. The loose details that have been previously mentioned should be alright, but don't push the envelope too far.

Also, what was up with the optional 'research' question?

Sounds like ACER was trialing a new type of question for future UMATs.

No, they wanted to know how you prepared. It was optional and they stressed it had no bearing on the results, but I was still sceptical. Nonetheless, I put down "no preparation" since that was pretty much the honest truth. :P

Ah yeah they do that every year. I assumed you meant an actual question in the exam.

They do studies on it and whatnot.

I saw a woman today sitting the umat. She looked to be in her 40s?
What sort of special consideration would she have had?

Or maybe i was just hallucinating from pre-exam stress

guessed 6 questions in Section 1. guessed 20 + questions overall. ran out of time for section 3. I found section 1 alright, not too hard. Easier than medentry. Section 2 was very ambiguous. Section 3 was hard for me ( never been my good section) .

Did anyone get the question in section 1 about the earth orbiting the sun for section 1? it was so hard for me for some reason even though i think it's not meant to be hard

Did only practice one exam from ACER and it actually helped quite a lot (accurate in terms of style and difficulty imo). Really hard to tell how i went and ended up guessing like 10 in the end. Section 3 turned out much easier than expected however section 1 was very time consuming and ended up guessing the last few because i had wasted so much time on them in the previous ones. Overall better than expected but felt like i could have done better and now i can't get it out of my head.  :-\ any suggestions on getting back the VCE mindset?

Saw a balding guy who was at least late forties. Dude was sweating bullets at pens down.
