Poll

How did the UMAT 2013 go in general? (modesty aside)

Pretty good, I'm pleased with my performance
Alright I guess
Not really sure, could have gone either way
Not too well, not happy with how I went
To be frank, a complete disaster
I didn't sit the UMAT 2013 today but like to respond to polls anyway

I'm going to be absolutely broken if I happen to do really well, but not well enough to make the cut...

There's a cut? Previous years I know it was 95 percentile-ish; this year I thought the line was unclear?

There is no "cut" for Monash this year.

This is a figurative cut haha, not an absolute term in what I meant there

Does anyone know how common it is for people to get <50 for Section 2?
From 2012 graph for section 2:

*I also got below 50 for section 2 :P

Probably a bit pedantic, but can anyone confirm that this is the 50-50-50 rule?

Looks like it to me.

Well done on getting in, must have absolutely bossed S1 and 3 (how's that for logic?"

For 2013 entry (my year), Monash looked at the overall UMAT percentile.  Even though I didn't do so well in S2, I managed to score high in S1 and S3.  The 50-50-50 rule is new.

I'm confused with the 50? Out of what? There was 134 questions, are they standardised for each section to be out of 80 or something????

Oh god :( Is this to ensure people that get high s1 and s3 don't get through with a lousy s2??? If I do well enough, this MAY suit me as I tend to do well equally over each construct, but without any results I'm going to keep silent  ::) does anyone know what date results came out last year?

It's a standardised score between 0 and ~110. The number of questions you get right in each topic correspond to a standardised score, decided by ACER depending on how difficult the set of questions were compared to previous years.

For instance, in 2011 Section 1, 44/44 = 105, 43/44 = 92, 42/44 = 82, etc.

Do I want to know how you know that to such specifics (seems like a bit of hearsay of non-ACER-official info)? LOL
