A bit old, but when you're lost for words, just stop and nod and blame the other person. Works all the time.
I love this video, but I cringe to watch it. It's just, what the hell is going on?

Another quiz type thing  - http://www.isidewith.com/au/political-quiz . This mob did one for the USA Presidential election last year and i thought it was very well done. I think it's only in the testing stage but it's worth a shot. For best results, also check out the options under the "choose another stance" button.

In other news, apparently the coalition won't release their costings until the final week of their campaign, someone has pointed out though that this is what Labor did (on an even shorter time-frame) in 2010, just to not let things fall down the memory hole.

Anddd here are my results from the above quiz.

It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

In the news lately:

The ALP will preference the Greens #1 after themselves on their how to vote cards and group voting tickets (for the senate) in every state except Queensland. In Queensland, Katters Australia Party (KAP) will get this spot.

In my opinion, it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Katter is left to the greens on a few particular issues. Whilst he is undoubtedly on the right for social issues, he is certainly on the left (even moreso than Labor sometimes) for economic issues. In some seats, the KAP polled significantly higher than the Greens in Queensland. I guess the thinking is here that KAP is closer to the ALP than Liberals are so they'd rather see KAP win the seat.

Straight from the KAP party platform:

Quote
Governments should develop and promote policies which maintain and advance a modern mixed economic system that will ensure economic growth, full employment, equitable distribution of income, rising living standards, prosperity, opportunity and equality of access to such opportunity for all Australians, to ensure:

Full employment (pretty much literally) is an idea that's very socialist in nature. The ALP pursued this policy for a few decades i believe before they gave up on it.  Note also he focuses on the distribution of income as well.

And finally,

Katter also has a lot of union allies, especially in the CFMEU. He's quite the left-winger economically, and shouldn't be relegated to the bottom of your preferences. Pretty sure he even self-identifies as socialist.

That and he's almost worth the comedic value.

People *cough t-rav cough* level accusations of inarticulacy at Tony Abbott - fair enough. But Katter's on a whole other level, it's almost beautiful to watch; it surpasses cringeworthiness.

Vote this man in to every national body. It's not the best option for Australia but I need a laugh.

Haha. I consider myself a bit of a rightist actually. Socially liberal (left), economically right wing. Did that isidewith thing and got 70/50/40 for Libs/Labor/Greens. Most of the Greens stuff came from social policy.

Is it just me or are some of those "choose another stance" choices exactly the same as the "yes" or "no" options...
