You can talk about a number of things, from the recent implementation of mediation in the supreme court to the juries act 2000 abolishing a number of "excusable" occupations

Implementation of the 'Koori' court system

= Staff personal of a court are human, and therefore establish their own opinions, all though we wish for our legal system not to have biases in it, it does exist, The koori court system aims at eliminating basis for stereotyping of aboriginals, icing them access to a fair trial.
= allows for specialisation, staff within the court system (including lawyers) are educated in cultural values, some aboriginal people believe that it is disrespectful to look at people, if an aboriginal did not look at someone in court when answering a question this may be taken as a sign of guilt, by un specialised staff. (also interpreting aboriginal english)
=elders of the community have input into the decision-making, therefore acting as a consultant with the magistrate.
=Improves the speed at which courts operate, other divisions of courts can deal with non-indigenous matters.
=Informal atmosphere.
>I became quite passionate in legal studies about the koori court system

=elders of the community have input into the decision-making, therefore acting as a consultant with the magistrate.

Remember however that elders do not have any input on sentencing - that's for the judge and the judge only to determine. They're there more as a connection to the accused's community - the accused is more likely to listen if someone they respect is addressing them etc.

The Criminal Procedure Act 2009 (Vic.) addressed some of the concerns regarding the rules of evidence and procedure that such as intimidation of parties, proceedings becoming delayed due to excessively legalistic nature, etc.
