Everyone told me that Year 12 was harder than first year at university, and I just assumed they had completely easy degrees.

Year 12 > first year at university in difficulty, for me personally  :o (I'm sure it differs with the individual)

There's lots of views on university compared to VCE and as Ballerina said it does depend on the individual.

If you're looking just to pass in uni, you will have so much free time and it will be so much more relaxed compared to year 12.
However if you're looking to do well (HDs, Ds etc), it can be just as stressful if not, more stressful than year 12.

Literally two weeks away from the final exams and I just want to sit in a corner and make ugly wailing sounds and break stuff

The day I'm done I will literally just sit in bed and laugh for hours

Have a look at which state that website is from :P ACT has it's own certificate, the BSSS, which operates a bit differently to most systems in the country actually (from what I gather, the majority of assessment is done by schools and then there's a externally assessed exam that's somewhat like the GAT http://www.bsss.act.edu.au/years_11_and_12/act_scaling_test) Still has the concept of moderating, scaling, ATAR and all that of course (which does get merged into the NSW cohort for calculating that).

LOL! I was thinking NSW. I must have been REALLY tired last night to get it wrong twice. :P

Funny, I did disappointingly in year 12 but I do better in uni and enjoy it a heap more and find it much easier despite the tenfold higher workload.
