No Bio = No Med?

I'm not a big fan of doing Biology in VCE to be honest.
I've never been great at Biology and really don't think I'm suited for it.
That being said, I'm pretty keen on doing Medicine in University, which has prerequisites of English and Chemistry.
Chemistry's probably my favourite subject.

Just asking if my lack of enthusiasm for Biology relates into Medicine not being the right field for me.

Thanks  :)

Well a lot of medicine requires the foundations of biology... Like a *lot* (physiology, pharmacology, anatomy to an extent, etc.) so it's something you've either got to like or got to be able to deal with.

Not all med students did Bio in school and some only liked it once in med.

Depends which areas of Biology you don't like I guess. There's large parts of it that I didn't find all that interesting (all the plant stuff, evolution etc). The pre-clinical years of Med will be a struggle though if it's the human physiology side of it that you don't like. Med has a lot more to do with Biology than Chemistry, so don't purely go off your interesting in Chemistry in choosing to do Medicine.

It's not that I don't like Biology: it's just that I don't think I'll do that well in it. I don't want to risk my ATAR to do a subject which will help me in a uni course. Like in the end if I do biology I might not get into med and then I would've wasted time doing a subject which doesn't help me in my course. Might sound confusing but I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say :)

I get what you're saying and although it's a cliche (it's a cliche from a reason though), you should choose the 4/5 subjects that you like/enjoy the most (English is compulsory but I actually hate it so much).

The VCE biology you learn doesn't help THAT much with medicine once you're in university.
I'm fairly certain if you have the ability to get into medicine, being a tiny bit behind in terms on just biology will be the least of your worries in university.

Also, although I'm sure you already know, but just to make sure remember that most if not all medicine courses require methods and chemistry as a prerequisite.
