i'm doing VCE atm and i have a question, what is my estimated ATAR enter score if most of the SACs i've done throughout the year were bad but i have at least gotten or redeemed a satisfactory for my units, because all i am depending now is doing really good on my exams, 50-60 perhaps? hopefully because i am definitely not going to get 85 above, i have basically failed majority of my sacs and at least gotten a satisfactory for all units, but for exams i am studying as hardcore as ever, need your thoughts guys :D much appreciated, i really want to go to university and not have to tafe!

What are my thoughts on studying as hardcore as ever? Sounds like the right approach, just keep studying as hardcore as ever, ask lots of questions, annoy all your teachers for help etc.

Or were you asking what are my thoughts on your question? It's a silly question and not something you should worry about it at this point in time. Firstly no one can give you an accurate prediction really. Let's say I pull out of nowhere, say an ATAR of 30 (and really I have no basis to make any kind of prediction). What are you going to do? Give up? Nah, you can't do that, that'll end you up in a worse position than you'd otherwise been in. If I pulled out the number 75, again out of nowhere, what does that mean you'd have to do? Work hard to actually achieve that score (or better). Whatever number I decide to pull out, leaves you with one thing you must do to get the best score you can: focus on your subjects and work hard at them.

You don't need to put limits like "definitely not going to get 85 above" on yourself. I'm not giving that as a prediction of what's possible, but I'm just saying to give it your all, because that's the best way to ensure that you'll do the best you can. There's this anecdote from Brendan which is worth reading Re: Should I Repeat Year 12? and this thread explains the kind of attitude that I think makes studying the easiest Rankings - the secret behind them all

Basically do everything you can to ensure that you get an ATAR score you're happy with. You'll discover at the end of the year whether it's possible or not. If you need help with any of your subjects, have a poke around these forums, there'll probably be some useful stuff there.
