Which practice health exams are the most useful?

Hi,

I'm just wondering which health practice exams are most useful, I've got a range such as QATs, Achper, Insight, and even the engage education ones. Out of the ones I've mentioned which do you think replicate the exam the closest, and will aid me the most in performing well in the exam? Are there any that I haven't mentioned that I should look into?

(Note I will obviously do all the practice vcaa ones, I'm just saving them for closer to the exam.)

Thanks

I've done one of the VCAA ones, and from that I would say Insight and QATS were the best. Also, I found Engage education the worst, it had stupid questions like 'list 4 MDGs' for 4 marks - something I highly doubt would ever pop up on a VCAA exam :)

ACHPHER... I felt that the section B was not matching the standards expected by vcaa. I felt like i was doing short answer questions! But other than that it was pretty good.

I felt the Engaged Education ones to be more revision than exam.
I haven't done too many exams yet, but I found home economics to be quite good.

How many exams are you guys aiming to do?

How'd you go last year? And how many practice exams did you do if you don't mind me asking :)

I know this isn't really what you're asking, but I don't think there's such a thing as a pointless practice exam (if you attack it suitably). I see that you're keeping the VCAA exams until last. This was my strategy, too, for most of my subjects, but for Health I actually did them first AND last. I saw what I needed to improve from the first attempts, and then re-did them closer to the exam to see my progress. That worked well for me.

Best of luck!

I did okay haha, not amazing..43  :P
And to be honest I didn't do ALOT of practice exams. I think from memory I did about 5-6, but that's because I also had Methods and I was focusing on that more :)

Hmm well the main things I can think off are:
1. Know your stuff. Like seriously, you have to know your content inside out and be familiar with all aspects of the course. Maybe even try and research a few more examples here and there and go a bit further just so that you can provide answers which give depth.
2. Check out assessment reports to see how the examiners are expecting you to word your answers. The phrasing of your answers are definitely something they're looking out for, from what I hear.

Good Luck!  :)

Save VCAA ones for later but I would recommend definitely doing QATs and Insight.
Engage are pretty crappy in comparison but an alright place to go if your out of questions.
I just found that they didn't cover a variety of content within the course and included some stuff that wasn't relevant
Also their suggested responses weren't great
Be careful with all the suggested responses for your trial exams as there are many different ways things can be explained (i know this was an issue for me) and if you ever need help feel free to post on here or send me a PM
good luck!
