Well, I needed 99.90 for guaranteed MD, and I missed out be 0.3 aggregate marks after having an exposed nerve in one of my teeth for my Spesh exam and knowing that my answer was wrong but being unable to think straight. I was actually really shattered with 47 because I knew I could (and needed) to do better, but yeah, life works out in the end :)

Something that's been on my mind for a while now...

I'm doing specialist and a language this year, and have been playing around with some numbers on atar calc. I'm getting an ATAR that's crazy high (for me) after typing in potential study scores that are none-too-fantastic.

So my question is: does atar calc actually work, or is it just raising my hopes? I just can't believe the calculator at all. Hopefully this doesn't detour too much from the topic.

The problem isn't with ATAR Calc, it's that you're a lot smarter than you think you are :P

haha thanks.

But I swear, I'm typing in some of my study scores in the 30s and getting above 99 for my ATAR?  ???

...which led me to think the system was a troll   :-\  I don't know what I'm trying to achieve from this post; raising my suspicions about the calculator I suppose.

ive known like 4 people who put their study scores in atarcalc and it was either spot on or off by 0.05 so it works
if you do spesh a 30 scales to mid 40s, and some langauges do that too hence the high predicions youre getting

Such is the nature of scaling! If one were to do English, Methods, Spec, Chem, French and Psych (for example), and get 35 in every subject, they'd get an ~95ish ATAR.

SugarMinted when I put in 30s it generates an ATAR score of 57. Scaling is crazy.

I put in 26's for my subjects this year (+results last year) and I get ~93... pretty much enough to get into engineering already lol...

The scaling for spesh and (not so much) indo is crazy

Spesh scaling works differently, as it includes in the scaling population anyone who has attempted a VCE 3/4 subject. Otherwise, it would only scale marginally higher than Methods.
