La Trobe Dentistry Question

Hi,

I'm currently doing Year 11 VCE and i'm really interested in the Science/MasterDent course at La Trobe. I have a couple of questions.

They seem to be really concentrated on rural students, do they have an allocated amount of spots to rural students ?

I'm a level 3 rural which gives me the 'rural bonus'. They state you get 10 bonus points, does this mean if you get an ATAR of 85 it boosts straight to 95 or is it aggregate points. If it is your ATAR does this mean anything of 90+ goes straight to 99.95  for your application? (this is my main understanding)

Is there anything I can do through this year and next to help my application. I'm looking for work experience but is there anything else, short courses ? Lectures ?

What would be my best option if I didn't get accepted ? From what I have researched I think that it would give you the highest chance by redoing the year 12 subjects you didn't do quite as well in.

Thanks..

In regards to the bonus points, I'm almost 99% positive is is aggregate points. It would be completely unfair to give a 10 ATAR points bonus.

Okay, thanks for that. I thought that would be the case as well, but I emailed La Trobe and they sent back a load of irrelevant information then saying "The bonus applies to your ATAR score". The email seemed nearly automated though.

hmm a few of my classmates got in due to getting +10 on the ATAR score

Eg. One of friends around around 90.7 and hes rural, a plus 10 aggregate score would not get him anywhere near the cut off but he obviously got in, and got in before all the deferred kids so I'm pretty sure its +10 onto the ATAR score.

So get 90+ ;)

From knowledge the other rural kids got in the 90's as well so aim for that
