Is linear approximation on the exam?

Like do we need to know it, or has it been cut out of the study design?

There's a good linear approximation question at the end of vcaa 2009 exam 1. Good luck!

btw, they're mainly MC qs where they tell you the formula as well.

there was one where you had to explain why the approximation was greater than the actual value, and I'm pretty sure that's the one abey linked you in his post.
I have also seen a percentage approximation question, but I think it was on a commercial paper not a vcaa one.

It's not a major part, but you still need to know it. Good lucks!

If you're really stuck and can't remember the formula, just use the first principle of derivatives and make f(x+h) subject
