Sac moderation in english?

So basically my English teacher "strongly disagrees with my writing style" because i "use big words" which he finds tiring  whereas I'm told I should use "simple terms" and marked a lot of my sacs this year down so I sit on an average of a B+ (which is disappointing because I really wanted a 40). But I just got two trial exams back marked by "examiners" so I'm told and in both of them I got 9.5/10 in every section - which is extremely contradictory to most of my marks throughout the year which look something like 21/30, 23/30, 32/40 and my only A+ of the year was a 46/50 which led to me losing my 40 hopes and focusing on something around a 32-38. I'm usually really strong in English as I do both English and Lit and enjoy them thoroughly, and throughout year 10 and 11, I lost about a total of 4 marks in all my assessments including exams, and I thought something was wrong with me this year, but after getting my practice exam results back I'm thinking its my teacher? If I perform similarly on the exam and get 9s or 10s in all of my essays, do I still have any hope of a 40?

I know I'm over-thinking things and the times passed but I need to appease myself I really love the subject and it'd suck to not do well in it because a teacher doesn't "agree with my writing style".

Congrats on your exam scores :)

Still hope, for sure. You could be considered an outlier, maybe your exam score and a few other exam scores cause your SACs to scale well. Whatever, just try your best and good luck :)
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

Yeah if you do well in the exam you'll be considered an outlier. I didn't know you could be marked down for having an advanced vocabulary.. should probably demand to have them remarked as I think it's unacceptable. I hope I'm treated as an outlier for English too.. my cohort is pretty weak and tbh I don't want to find out my ranking.

My teacher is somewhat like yours!

I got my LA marked by a VCAA examiner, got a 10/10.

However, during my LA Sac, i only got 70%...
cause i use too many "big words" and it seemed like my focus is trying to flaunt my vocab as opposed to analysing the text.

However, I'm not that unlucky because my context/text response sac marks were fairly similar to what I got on the trial exam.

& just saying, I did bio last year, averaged  about low 70% but i still got a 45.
So don't worry!

Just ace the exam!
