The Cosi essay topics were very ... Thought provoking. I found it difficult to unpack them in such a short time, and found that they did not create much room for discussing technical aspects of the play. I chose the second topic, which was a poor decision. Time allocation was an issue in section A for Cosi writers.

Damn I thought they were hard. Lucky I didn't bother studying it.
The WILL YOU PLEASE BE QUIET PLEASE anthology by Raymond Carved had good prompts. I liked the second one the most about compassion, really easy for me as I studied that theme!

The second On the Waterfront prompt was quite accessible and I think I did fairly well on it. For those that don't have access to the paper, it was:

Quote
Edie Doyle, with her sense of right and wrong, is responsible for the changes that take place in On the Waterfront.
Do you agree?

This was my favourite section because one of the questions was very similar to one that I did on the weekend, and got a 9/10 from my teacher. :D

The Year of Wonders topics were much better than I had thought they would be. Not a problem at all!

The Reluctant Fundamentalist:

Prompt A:
Absolute destruction for me, I did not do, not that I could've. Had nothing for this one except fundamentalism and Underwood Samson.

Prompt B:
I was all over the place with my ideas, couldn't get a solid ground for Erica's direct influence on Changez's choices and actions.

I dread disaster for this section. imo the prompts for TRF were less straight forward with the themes.

Anyone tried the first prompt for O.T.W? Rambled on about the author's identity in juxtaposition.

Thankfully the topics this year for this film weren't that deceptive ;;

The Reluctant Fundamentalist, wow.
Was shattered that there were no thematic based prompts, was very hard to incorporate theme discussion.

Loved the Ransom prompts. They were definitely doable but there was just too much to write! Thank God I prepared myself for a 'how' question.

My supply of quotes ran very dry too, and two of my three arguments were talking about things that sat very close to each other. I gave a shot at incorporating the cafe conversation which pretty much fell flat on its face.

Mixed feelings about text. I hope I just answered the question with clarity.

Interpreter of Maladies topics were definitely different but still doable

Topics for The Old Man Who Read Love Stories were excellent though
