Dates and Historical Challenges

Does anyone know how essential it is to include dates in historical factors or challenges to examiners?

Must include dates, quotes, verses from sacred text, as they are essentially pieces of evidence to your response.

If you put out a response and don't back it up with either, its quite simply put, invalid.
