OMG WHEN I SAW ASTHMA I WAS SOOOOO RELIEVED!!! Asthma is like my no.1 favourite NHPA lol, so it was really relieving to see they examined us on that instead of another NHPA :D

Umm the 16th of december. You register soon for text message, or log on and view it at 7am+ you're graduating 2014, so just the HHD study score right?

That's right, it's just HHD this year. We just haven't been told ANYTHING through school yet and I just figured that was just odd considering we don't have any time with our year 12's anymore.
Do we register for it ourselves? Or has the school already done it? I just don't want a text message or the letter and would rather check online in my own time

With the iodine question as a determinant of health, would this get marks

"required by the thyroid gland to assist the metabolism and growth of the body, preventing goitre"

I was so shocked! I thought that was one of the easiest (besides obesity) because it only had the one condition.
And nothing on dementia at all!? Even a larger shock to the system

But many people in my class couldn't remember a program for it.

Lol folate was the one I kept blindly skimming over because I'm like 'Nah, they won't ask us this minor, insignificant nutrient'. Nek minnut..
Haha, but I really thought hard and remembered that my favourite vegetable, mushrooms, are a source of folate but it hit me after so long haha! I had a feeling they'd ask about iodine and iron though!

Did you guys get the food security question? I thankfully memorised the definition in the study design!

I saw the iodine question and just completely blanked on its function which really depressed me during reading time 'cause it's so demoralizing not to know one of the first few questions but there was extra time at the end and it came to me and I'm so happy :D

How do people find out what the A+ cutoffs are anyway - like for past years, where do they announce it?

Guys I only doubled with Arts because I couldn't let go of Psych and wanted to keep doing it as a major at least, but I took International Studies on a whim after the info session just because I needed a minor, and I love it so much! It's 3:29am and I had to share this, I think I'm majoring in it bye.

What'd you guys do for characteristics of Asthma ?

Just narrowing of the airways and causing symptoms like coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and the fact that it's chronic and that's pretty much it I think. I might have mentioned triggers...

Here's the link for all 2012 subjects: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Pages/vce/statistics/2012/statssect3.aspx and for hhd specifically: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/statistics/2012/section3/vce_health_and_human_development_ga12.pdf

But otherwise, just google something along the lines of VCAA grade distributions [insert year] and you'll get reports for all subjects, so you can check them out if you want! HHD exam is GA3, so that's the last page of the document :)
