Could anyone find the second tangent equation?

Just did the question. The way I did it was define the tangent point to be (a, g(a)), with the tangent being:

y - g(a) = g'(a) (x-a)

And then subbed in (0, k) so that I can get rid of the 'a' in the tangent equation by working out a in terms of k and then subbing into the tangent equation.

Literally everyone in my school came out of the exam with blank faces.... no cheers of celebration or anything.

Did really super stupid things. I think Multiple choice was harder than last year. Extended response was ok. Until the last page. I honestly thought I was misreading something... had no idea what to do D:

A+ predictions?

Definitely in the 50s D:.... I reckon... Mid 50s? Considering last years A+ cut off was 61... Or is that waayy to low.

I thought I'd be so relieved after my 3/4 exam. I'm feeling really tense and anxious. Dreading the 16th of December D:

provided that u got 100% for everything else, thats still an mid A+ on average if using data from previous years i think the average is liek 65/80 for an A+ across 6 years.

They really should have made the question 4c) a 'show that' question....

If you couldn't solve 4c) and find the gradient in terms of k, you were effectively barred from the whole last page.
That's totally stupid.

Not to mention the fact that X'P' and all that was just poorly worded. I didn't even realise it was a line segment..
Arghhhh!

What were VCAA thinking?? :-\

That exam felt really long.
The worst part is that 2k14 grads are gonna look at it and be like "lmao that was a gift" and we'll just cry about it.

</3 Not feeling good. Left last page blank.

Omg, so happy. I guessed 7 MC questions and I got at least 4 of these guesses right without working them out, could even be 5 correct out of 7 guesses if I could remember what I put down for one of the MC. RELIEF  ;D I like never guess things right??

Well by the looks of the solutions I got 68-69/80, which might still net me an A+. Let's hope that's the case. :3
