Was that the distance lengthy one of the tunnel support? I did the line - f(x), derived, then picked the right x value for that equalling zero. Sub both into f(x) and the line, and take (f) from the line.

I actually managed to get the gradient in terms of k, but it took me too long to figure it out and i couldnt do the last page :\

I just did that last question, wow! Don't feel bad if you left it blank guys. Some of the top students at my school apparently left it blank - I doubt more than 6-8% of the state will get any of the last four questions, if previous years are anything to go by!

Edit: that's coming from someone who got a premier's award in methods last year! I don't think you're alone, guys. I might post up my solutions in a bit, if no one else has.
