Guys I would like your opinion on things.
With this year obviously being our last year at high school, I do want to make it memorable. I do understand the importance of study, however, I would also like to do some extracurricular activities and events which I may have not done in the past, which will be my last chance to do things like this. My Asian parents are fairly disappointed with my results last year, and they often complained about how my participation in extracurricular activities led to my poor results (I don't think my results were THAT bad, but their expectations are higher than mine). I have even told them about how our school and teachers recommend us to do things like these, and even top achievers do lots of things too. I have argued with my parents and it never works, because as typical Asians, the only thing they allow me to do is study, sleep, exercise and eat. If my results were good last year, they may not be so harsh on me. I really don't know what I should do??? Should I go out of my way to do things my parents wouldn't let me do? Like joining things after school, and some things require parental consent. I also work 6-13 hours a week at a casual job too, which they are not too happy with but they don't mind if I work a couple of hours.
tl;dr my parents are
VERY against the idea of doing extracurriculars. I've argued even using real-life examples too. Should I listen to them or not??
