Can we just use a mechanical pencils with 2b lead? Or do we have to bring an old school pencil and sharpener, because I do not own such a device

It's all working for me... maybe check under Messages - Preferences - Change Settings that you've got the 'save a copy of each PM sent by default' thing checked?

Good luck on the UMAT people. Remember, while it is an important test, there are still ways of getting into medicine. In the event that you don't do well, the years will fly by and next minute you'll suddenly find yourself reapplying for med again, so try not to stress out!

Grats! Although I did hear a bit regarding South Yarra dodginess, something about getting to finals with 4 out of 5 wins or something? Not your team specifically but some other team.

We're against a VST debater and her team rd 5.. will be interesting

Perhaps this was a result of the region being merged at A/B grade level, so there being one team from each division? I'm honestly not sure at all if this is the case, but such an event happened to me last year. My team had only won 4 out of 5 of the debates, but the one we lost to was against a Year 12 team, while we were all Year 11s. Just a thought.

Yes, I did hear this from her 

South Yarra is the dodgy region this year it seems. The DAV rules do say that teams on top of the ladder, regardless on the amount of wins will go through. By Round 4, in our A Grade, everyone lost at least once (including ours, due to a really biased topic in Round 3, where 8/9 aff teams actually lost, including ours and the other frontrunners), with five teams on a 3-1 record. Which meant there was a possibility of three teams making finals in our Round 5, and there were! We got two through in A Grade. Same thing happened in our B Grade, but instead, they had one undefeated team who then promptly lost in Round 5, meaning everyone on 4-1 got through to finals, including 4 MHS teams...

Ahh, well yeah, biased topics suck, we had one in Hawthorn B grade Rd 3 where every single aff team except one lost haha (the one about being selfish to have children?)
