Yeah I got the email about the business thing, but I've applied for a Commerce double degree
But yeah, like others have said no way in hell will I get 98.

Am I the only one having dreams about receiving my atar, was so happy to see what i got in my dream :P
I dreamt about my ATAR (kinda)
Well I got my study scores but I woke up before I could get to read my ATAR. But I remembered the scores I got and put it into ATAR Calc, and I ended up with 92/93ish but I got a whole range of scores in my dream so yeah

Random numbers appear in my head, like the other day 94.35 did. It's over 94, and that's all I care about. Who knows...my ATARcalc predictions could be all wrong. What was the cut off for the business thing? i didn't get one, but I did put 2 commerce related preferences.

Regarding the Monash scholarship e-mail, someone on the Facebook VCE discussion page posted:
Quote
my mums partner (and my mum) work at monash and they said it doesn't seem legit because it doesn't even have any contact details of anyone from monash, and also it doesn't have the logo or anything compared to the other emails they've sent out which usually features blue borders etc.! Really strange though
So that might be the case. Or just an unfinished e-mail that was accidentally sent out? Unfortunate if that was the case, lol.

I hope its legit for all of you...

There a few odd things though:

- How did they get your e-mails? Did all of you sign up for something Monash related? I'm wouldn't think VTAC got leaked, because that place is probably secure.

- Why did people who had no business preferences get the Scholarship?

Aha no - I've been having heaps sometimes happy, sometimes sad. Even my mother had one where I got 94! (Way to put the pressure on mum).

For everyone who's just checking online - are you going to check the study scores first or choose to view your atar first?
Study scores because once I see my English I know what I'm going to get :P

I remember I thought that SSes came on separate pages, so you could look at them one at a time :P I planned out the order I'd check and was well prepared to take it calmly and confidently (haha).

When I stumbled half-asleep with a wildly beating heart to the computer at 7, it hit me all at once in the face like an absolute ton of bricks.  I stared blindly at the numbers for a few moments and then leaped up and jumped round the room before I even checked my ATAR... and then I had to go back and check a few times before I could even really absorb the number I'd got for English.  (And no one in my family even cared enough to be awake.)

Haha same, no one was awake for me. Mum was out gardening and everyone was asleep and then suddenly the whole neighborhood heard me screaming "FOURTY - SIX!!" I was so excited, haha. :) Hope I get the same experience this year, and it goes well for all of us.

Yeah if it is phishing I'm screwed cause I clicked on the links and stuff, but it says it's from [email protected] so hopefully this isn't a scam..

It was sent to my junk mail, probably due to it being mass sent to a lot of VCE students. It did look legit with the @monash.edu, but I think (no idea) it would be @monash.edu.au? Anyway, didn't touch it as I didn't apply for anything of the sort. It might have been a mistake email, who knows.
Hopefully you're not phished Splash :C

It's very easy to spoof an e-mail address, just saying. It looks 100% legitimate, and you can't tell at all unless your email service picks up the spoofing and tells you. Some email services also junk spoofed emails automatically. But I'm baffled as to why someone would want to phish a VTAC...? Not much monetary gain to be made there, unless they store your CC/PayPal info.

Does anyone know whether I would be liable for charges if I accompanied a shoplifting friend, holding some items which he was later to shoplift? I'm eighteen. Got banned from a large shopping centre today but no charges laid (as of yet). They put me down as 'intent to steal', but I argued that I never harboured, at any point, such an intention.

Sheeeeeeit. If I was you, the first thing I would do it tell my parents, and then maybe head over to your local PD and get this all sorted out. The downfall of this is that you'll have to rat out your 'friend' maybe (well...they already know him). I don't know the whole story, but what he did was terrible, and not a thing a friend would do. Just try to rid your name from the paperwork...

I'm not a cop, or lawyer, so all of this could be extremely wrong and stupid.

Is 'monash, edu' a thing? Normally their extensions are longer, and wtf is 'centrale'?

Nah, he was a good mate - he said to them I didn't steal anything or never had intent to steal (which was true), but they kept saying that he was "just trying to cover for 99.90 pls". Not sure what happens at this point, as they have my address. If my parents find out, I'd have a better chance of survival jumping off the Westgate lol
