How do you guys stay calm and write an essay for 45 minutes but still sound fluent in your writing? For most of the time, I have the ideas, examples and quotes in my head but it's just putting everything on paper and making them link together that I'm having some trouble with. I don't really have problems doing an essay if you give me 2 hours but lets be real, we get 2 hours for the whole thing. For every timed practice exam that I do, I always end up freaking out and just let myself take up 2 hours just for the essay haha.......so bad i know

I'm a derp when it comes to that too... But I find that reading over my past essays and memorizing key sentences and quotes helps me.. It actually makes me think that I have a back-up plan so there's less reason to freak out   ;D

This is really late but if our still doing English then I hope my tips can help.

Firstly, if you are incredibly nervous to sit your tests I suggest you get rescue remedy products. They are made out of natural resources and are designed to help calm you down.

In order to practice writing in a timed conditions you can easily practice at home. While revising for a SAC I suggest you write out your entire essay at home so you have a very good idea of what exactly you can discuss. While doing this set yourself the same time limit that you will have during the SAC and begin writing. What this will do is get your brain to be accustomed to such time restrictions.

In order to right very high level essays I suggest reading more complex stories, novels or poems and deeply analysing the text. Not only will you learn new words but you will see different sentence structures and ways to correctly construct your writing.

If none of these work it might be a good idea to talk to your teacher and see what you can figure out together. A lot of the time your teacher can make exceptions if she knows your struggling to write in such conditions.

I hope this has helped you?
