Heyy!

Download the new study design and have it with you - it is literally the best guide for knowing what to study (because HHD textbooks drain it sometimes

). Make sure you read the key knowledge dot points in relation to the key skills - the key skills tell you what to do with the key knowledge dot points

Learn your definitions for the health status indicators and you'll be great!

Also keep a look out for those sneaky definitions e.g. U5MR - "per 1000 live births"

Also, know the difference between determinants and dimensions of health!

Dimensions are a way of categorising Health; determinants tell us how health gets affected (either positively or negatively) by a particular factor (determinant)

Also, getting familiarised with the NHPAs (maybe by watching some videos on youtube) would be good

In fact, watch a lot of videos relating to health campaigns and VicHealth campaigns (youtube is a God send for this as well as the AIHW website and VicHealth websites

). And definitions are quite important in HHD!

But luckily VCAA knows we're not memorising machines so we don't need to memorise any statistics or figures from our textbook (so dont be overwhelmed when you see a lot of data in your book! VCAA will always provide the data for you in the exam and you'll use that to answer Qs)

As for whether it's hard to do well in HHD because a lot of people do it - don't worry about a "lot of people"

If you work hard of your own accord, you will do well!

The number of people that take the subject shouldn't affect you so long as you work hard, know your content well and have good practice answering Qs!

I agree that HHD is a major content overload and it does get hard at times but HHD's A+ cutoff isn't that high so doing well is all the more possible (and you'll learn to love it I think!

). All the best for next year!
