Summer Lectures: TSFX or NEAP? - Even worth it?

Hello all,

Doing Biology 3/4 next year, I was told by some teachers that there were revision lectures hosted by companies to assist in preparation over the holidays. I looked into it, but what better way to get further advice than you guys.

So if anyone has an opinion, or personal experience, would you say summer revision lectures are worth it? That too, which would be better, NEAP or TSFX?

ive gone to tsfx's lectures and the notes they give you are awesome, and just being in the lecture and listening you pick up lots of stuff
be warned though, go in with a full nights sleep and dont be hungry because ive had friends fall asleep and waste their money
good as experience though, for unit 2 methods they taught us how to all of the calculus chapter in like 30 minutes LMFAO

I've attend TSFX lectures for both unit 3 and unit 4 Biology. The lecture notes are extremely beneficial. I actually very rarely used my textbook because I had these excellent, insightful notes that in my opinion covered the course perfectly.

As mentioned above, if the lecture is 8 hours in one day,get good sleep. The lectures can become extremely tiring. However, I highly recommend TSFX for Biology. Best of luck with your decision.

You for bio go TSFX. The only thing you need to remember is that it will be information overload and most of the work will go straight over the top of your head but when you get up to thy bit in the course you will remember the lecture and you will one step ahead of your class as it will the second time you te hearing the info. And the notes are brilliant. They are a bit expensive but if you are willing/ have the money I think the lectures are worth it.

i went to ALL the lectures they offered for bio and the resources are amazing and quite comprehensive, but some of the teachers are a bit iffy.

sometime it can get a bit dry - so really eat before or you'll fall asleep!

I found all the teachers good. You'll probably have Ms Veronica too - she's excellent for SAC tips!

hopefully! I looked on the website and Ms Veronica is not teaching this time...it's just Mrs Anstee and Mr Mac!

It never said that Ms Veronica or Ms Claire were teaching either; but I still got taught by both at lectures.

went to everything TSFX offered from master classes to summer school to winter school to end of exam preparation, I pretty much slacked off all year and did nothing during class time at school though (my school didn't teach in class, the teachers were atrocious)

but yeah, if you're lazy or your teacher sucks then it's worth it

Probably not worth going to summer school though, but defintely attend the exam preparation lectures and if you have money to blow then go to the master classes

if you are going to go to tsfx, make sure when you come home, you actually review what you've done in class and do every single question they have in that book (as in class, they tend to skip questions). seriously, no joke.

summer school, winter school, master classes, exam revision lectures - you name it! for me and a lot of my friends, when we got home, we were so drained from the six hour lectures of summer school that we couldn't be bothered with reviewing the questions and understanding the theory and tricks taught during the lecture!
