MedEntry?

I'm not sure if I should do MedEntry. I honestly don't see much of a point and I find it overpriced... but, a lot of my friends are doing it, and there's always that feeling if you don't do it you're putting yourself at a disadvantage simply because everyone else seems to be doing it.

Thoughts? What experiences have people had with MedEntry?

I think the S2 material was pretty worthless. S1 was meh - it's a very hard section to improve on anyway. S3 however was very good and probably the only good thing there is to MedEntry.

Yeah, lots of kids choose MedEntry because everybody else chooses it, but remember there are those that do well on the UMAT without preparing and those who still do badly even with courses.

thanks. Reckon there's any point at all if I already have all their material?

No point at all if you already got it. I'd suggest giving Section Zero a try - might be better than MedEntry.

I did MedEntry this year. I would not say that it is particularly useful. For me in particular, I found the drills ridiculously easy and then the practise exams were ridiculously hard.

Also, their tech "support" is absolutely useless. It took them three months to work out what the hell was wrong with my account because I couldn't access the LMS, because they claimed that I hadn't payed...  What the actual fudge?!  >:(     :o

It got  to the point where my mum barged down there herself to try and resolve the issue. The matter was handled quite unprofessionally...

Lastly, in regards to the workshops, I found them the most useful for S3 as you're given different manners and strategies/patterns to use in working out which was 'the fifth in the sequence' or whatever the case may be, however I have heard that S3 is the least weighted out of the three). What they can't really help you with is S1 and S2 respectively as S2 is really discriminative...against both culture and gender and S1 is really a way for them to hack into your brain and try to grasp the way in which you, as an individual, think and unless you do the one on one lessons (which I have heard aren't amazing, but don't take my word for it).  From my experience, MedEntry can give you the answer, but realistically, they can only work through how to obtain the answer a certain number of times and recommend books etc. for you to read.  No one can work magic on that part of your brain...not even a doctor :P It is purely up to you with the way in which you want to tackle it.

I have friends who managed to get into Med without doing MedEntry and with MedEntry so I don't think it's a determining factor in you getting in or not. (Who woulda thunk it, ay?)

Good luck on whatever it is you choose to do though, happy studying for next year and just try your best. :D
If you don't know the answer to a question, chances are it has something to do with changing the surface area to volume ratio or resonance.
