For all you keen bean HHD kids, post all your questions onto this thread ! I'll ask the moderator to sticky this !
Good luck. :)

Hello I have a few questions that I need some help answering to a high standard.
Firstly what should you talk about when talking about a trend?
Secondly how would you explain the difference in health status using: biological, physical environment, social and behavioural (need an example for each)
Thank you :)

Hi Caitlyn! Next time, please post your questions here ...

HHD [3/4] Questions Thread

With your trends question; see my response here;

Trends . . .

Health status question; some examples you can use in your responses

Biological: Females generally have longer life expectancy than males. Since life expectancy is an indicator of health status, in that case you can say female's may have better life expectancy.

Behavioral: Due  to the testosterone males have, they are more likely to take risks and be involved in car crashes. Hence, increasing mortality rates and lowering their health status.

Social: Men are less likely to go to the doctor and hence access health care. Hence diseases can go unchecked, increasing morbidity rates, decreasing the level of life expectancy.

Physical environment: Men are more likely to work in physical environments such as factories and areas with lots of exposure to UV rays. These two factors can increase the chance of accidents/injuries and cancer, decreasing life expectancy and also decreasing the level of health status.

The lowest SES fifth refers to the 20% of the Australian population who have the lowest SES (socioeconomic status) - which means they have the lowest rates of income, education, etc. They are the bottom 20% of the population in regards to level of income, and overall wealth and education.
The highest SES fifth refers to the 20% of the Australian population who have the highest SES - higher rates of edi=ucation, and higher levels of income. They are the top 20% of the population, as they have the highest amount of wealth and levels of education.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks!

I have another question-

Individuals with early life experiences in a lower socio economic status household are more likely to be of low socio economic status as an adult. Explain why this is the case, using specific examples to justify your response.

The way u would answer this is obvs entirely dependent on the number of marks it is worth. But quick outline of what you could say ( many ways you can take this question ) low SES household --> child has  less access to education and required resources  ( cause they can't afford it , due to less income ) , ( note I picked education because it is one component of the SES definition)   -->this  in turn decreases employment opportunities ( this links to the "occupation " part of the SES definition) --> as a result they often have to resort to low income and high labour jobs (this links to the income component of the SES definition )--> as a result children end up having a low SES
Hope this helps :)
