Hey Smiley, was wondering if you had any tips for exam revision.
Thanks
Hi Rod,
Here are some exam tips.
Make sure you know all the definitions provided by VCAA plus others that you have learnt for sacs.
Then go over your sacs and other questions that you struggled with over the year.
Practice exams are important but what I would do is do couple and see how you go time wise. Then just use this to work on practice questions. If you are struggling with time then practice then spend time on writing answers quickly and succinctly. If you are losing marks on because you don't know what the question is asking then go back to the book and read through the key skills for this section then go back to practice.
In terms of how many practice exams, to do I think all the VCAA plus 15-20 is good. They are also really long though so by the end I was just learning definitions and then writing down answers to difficult questions.
Doing heaps of practice exams is fine, but a better use of your time would be spent learning definitions and then reading through various sources of questions and doing the questions that you find challenging.
It is also important to go over questions that ask you to explain how things affect health, health status, global health, human development and sustainable human development.
Studying the way you learn best will also work best, so if you like cue cards, posters teaching others then use this. Acronyms such as Ben Cousins Should Do Rehab (for the ottawa charter) are also really good, just make sure that you know exactly what they mean.
I love using cue cards and posters but everyone is different.
If you have any other specific questions let me know
