 In anaerobic respiration, I understand the process of glucose breaking down to 2 pyruvate molecules producing ATP, which is then further broken to lactic acid (animals) or CO2 + Ethanol (plants). Is the word equation,
Glucose--->Pyruvate--->Lactic Acid + 2ATP or Pyruvate--->Lactic Acid + 2ATP or Glucose--->Lactic Acid + 2ATP?
The GOAL: Attain a RAW study score of 40+ in all my subjects.

Courses I would like to study in order of preference include: Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Biomedicine or Bachelor of Science.

I honestly just think it is simply:

Glucose -----> Lactic Acid

The ATP is produced during glycolysis, so it's more correct to write

Glucose + 2ADP --> Pyruvate + 2ATP

Pyruvate + NADH ---> Lactate + NAD+

Remember that often in animals (and in plants,) the pyruvate enters the Krebs/TCA/citric acid cycle, lactate is only produced if the cell lacks oxygen.

I haven't really practiced writing out equations so this has helped me out a lot as well, but just to clarify, would it be 2ADP + 2Pi instead of just 2ADP?

For Question 17 (attached below) the correct answer is A.

I don't understand, because  I thought index fossils were only used to obtain the relative age of fossils/stratum?

I thought the answer was C.

Thanks :)

Do you guys think that we would be required to draw/label transcription and translation? If so, how simplistic can our diagrams be?

I thought it was 2 pyruvate? Unless its one for anaerobic and aerobic?

Never heard of cpDNA...

Definitely think we might... depends on the mark allocation really. Make sure you include the splicing of pre-mRNA to mRNA

What's independent and dependent variable, and is it likely that this exam will have one of those experimental thingy where we have to write stuff :(. Also is this the defintion of an antibiotic- can only be used to treat bacterial infections and have no effect on viral infections. The substance is naturally produced by one microorganism that selectively inhibits the growth of another microorganism. And could someone explain if vcaa asked a question explain how occurs in the action potential would if be sufficient to say that more Na+ enter the axon than leave thus the axon has a positive charge. And lastly with nerve muscle junction I get the stuff how it goes over synapse and stuff but are we required to know why the contraction happens and if so it is because of the postive charge?

Can someone tell me the difference betweenn experimental + control and independent + dependent variables?
I thought that they were synonymous for each other?
