VCE system changing in 2012?

Hi Guys,

Just heard that a new law has come out to change the entire education system (tertiary system)
Apparently, VCE is going to be abolished, so is HSC and other ones and going to introduce an entire Australia wide Exam system.
So the students in 2012, wont be racing against fellow state peers, however ENTIRE AUSTRALIA!

That's going to suck, too bad this is my last yr

Where you may have become confused, is that they are changing the name (can't remember what), the systems behind will stay the same (except for HSC who are dropping the 100 rank). 2012 is the date I believe the funding changes finally occur, where uni courses will be funded on a per student basis, so the unis can accept a whole lot more student for each course. (Will try find a source for that, I'm like 90% its something like that)

Is it really that hard to believe? I thought the national curriculum was coming in soon. The initial phase was changing the name (2009), it won't take too much longer for the whole thing to phase in.

My principal gave us SPEECH over out school progress and he mentioned that your very lucky to be finishing yr 12 this yr as in 2012 apparently the system is going to be Australia wide.
