Hi guys  :)

When do we have to apply for the HECS loan ? When's the dateline? And do I have to tick a box in the vtac website to inform them first ? And anything to prepare beforehand and right now? Thanks heaps.

When I enrolled into my course online my uni gave me an option to apply for HECS then, it is probably the same with every other uni. HECS can be done online or you can go to your uni and get a HECS loan form and do it by paper, but I would recommend doing it online. All they asked from me was my tax file number (TFN) and the usual stuff (full name, address etc).
And no you don't have to inform VTAC first (well at least I didn't). When you get accepted into your uni and fill up your enrolment form online, you can just do it then. So no need to do anything now.  :)

Got absolutely nothing to do with VTAC, VTAC is just a private organisation that administers the standards and calculations for university entrance. Thats pretty much all they do.

Once you get into your course and you're signing up for things like subjects and ID cards, thats when you'll sign up for HECs. Don't worry, they'll usually prepare you for it and walk you through it very well, they're not just going to chuck you out there on your own to sort it out (especially since it is their money on the line too).

Thanks to Sheo and slothpomba!
So will there be a dateline for applying HECS loan/CSP or I have to complete it on the uni enrolment  day?
