Ehhh... trying to do an 'engineering' major whilst trying to get lab experience and having to m
If anybody feels like taking a look and offering suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.
Wow. You are quite the polymath. The bio aspects of our study plans are polar opposites; yours focuses on the cellular level while mine looks at the wider picture (anatomy, organ systems, etc). I admire those who are capable of the abstract thinking that cell biology requires.
Idk if this will influence your decision but without second year lab work you can kiss your hopes of a UROP placement goodbye...if that's something you're wanting to do.
I'd do the one with the labs but on the other hand you said you're not interested in that subject and I always think people should choose stuff they're interested in...what about another lab subject that isn't that one?
Really valuable point, thank you for mentioning it! Today is the last day I can change due to the amount of quota subjects in my study plan (quota deadline is the 22nd and I need waivers due to my transfer).
This morning I was going to email for a waiver regarding Comparative Animal Physiology and enrol. Contact with the coordinator of Comparative Nutrition and Digestion has been unreliable. They haven't even bothered putting up the textbook list for the class. And I sgfdksjfgi love the laboratory when I'm actually in one. It's pre-practical where I'm nervous I'll burn the building to the ground. I become nervous
because I love and overvalue it. I definitely don't love exams and consequently/strangely are less nervous about my performance in them. That's despite having never actually broken, dropped, etc anything in the lab...BUT THAT JUST MEANS MY TIME IS NIGH.
However, I just can't muster enthusiasm for Animal Physio's content. I wouldn't have the stamina to concentrate and the poorer grade would likely affect my UROP chances as well. I'll take a fourth look at the second year science credits, but most of what I like is third year and I may be better off taking a short course in lab techniques over the summer (which I was contemplating doing for fun regardless). Ughh I'm literally sadder that I won't be in a class with LeviLamp, over potentially missing out on UROP. And UROP is amazing.
On the plus side, taking Comparative Nutrition and Digestion over Comparative Animal Physio means an exam worth 15% less lols. And I think I'll probably slide into the quota subjects despite leaving them until semester 2, as my first year average is a H1. I think. I hope.
