Do you have any in your study plan for 2014 at the moment hobbitle?
Ehhh... trying to do an 'engineering' major whilst trying to get lab experience and having to max out Level 1 subjects because I had no science prerequisites is making my study plan organisation hell. Add to that the mistake of not taking a Chemistry stream in first year and I'm basically a full year behind.
If anybody feels like taking a look and offering suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it. I've decided to drop Physiology and Anatomy even though I'd LOVE to take them and they keep the MD open, but I just can't fit everything in. This study plan excludes 4 breadths as I already have advanced standing for them.
Spoiler
2013
First Year, Semester 1
L1: Biology of Cells & Organisms
L1: Calculus 1
First Year, Semester 2
L1: Linear Algebra
L1:Calculus 2
L1: Genetics & Evolution of Life
L1: ESD 2
2014
Second Year, Semester 1
L1: Fundamentals of Chemistry
L2: Engineering Computation (compulsory for major)
L2: Engineering Mathematics (compulsory for major)
Second Year, Semester 2
L1: Chemistry 2 (hopefully accellerated...)
L2: Engineering Mechanics (not compulsory for major, but a useful Engineering subject)
L3: Biocellular Systems Engineering (CORE)
2015
Third Year, Semester 1
L2: Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (finally.... urgh)
L3: Molecular Aspects of Cell Biology (not core, but I love the content)
L3: Introduction to Biomechanics (CORE)
L3: Fundamentals of Biosignals (CORE)
Third Year, Semester 2
L3: Stem Cells in Development & Regeneration (not core, again just interested)
L3: Biosystems Design (CORE)
L2: Pathology - Exploring Human Disease (for interests sake)
L2/L3: Slot open for whatever....
It was a poor, poor decision to end up behind in Chemistry but when I started the course I was just going to do the prerequisites for the Masters and transfer straight in to it. Then I changed my mind and wanted to do the whole Undergraduate but by that stage it was too late to pick up Fundamentals of Chemistry.
Subjects that can perhaps swapped for something else are Engineering Mechanics, Pathology, anything 'not core', and there's obviously that open L2/L3 slot. It's all well and good as a study plan but basically kills any chance I have of applying for UROP as all those heavier lab-type subjects are coming up too late in my degree.
