All that matters in SACs is your ranking within your cohort rather than the mark itself (so if everyone happened to screw that first SAC up too, then you'll be fine). However, without knowing your ranking, it's hard to tell. The strength of your cohort is also an important factor as that contributes to what your actual SAC mark will become.

Mmm...I guess it's up to the strength of your cohort then. It's still quite possible to get a 50 ranked around 6th or 7th in some schools.

nope it all about the exam u can get 100% in ur sacs but den screw up ur exam and ur sac mark will get draged down to ur exam mark. i had sac average of 86 (highest in the class but dnt think in the school) over the 2 units but then got an A+ in the exam and got 45 which was highest in the school.

Not true AFAIK. Otherwise there'd be no point doing SACs. The discrepancy is simply because you out-performed everyone else on the exam.

Oh wow really, so if I lose 20-30 marks TOTAL in spec but still are ranked no. 1 (out of 5 in the cohort) I shouldn't give up on the exam because I could still score a 45+

Sorry for the thread jacking :)

Yep pretty much. The marks themselves are irrelevant as the difficulty of SACs varies between schools.

I'm top of my year level at the moment for business as i found out last week.. so if I get like 2 marks off 100 percent for the exam does that mean i can still get a 50 or do I have to get full marks for the exam as well?

A question regarding the study score:
Just say I am ranked 4th or 5th in my cohort of about 90 students, with an aggregate internal score of 46.5/50. I get a 47/50 on the exam (which is the highest mark for the exam in my cohort). What could my possible study score be?
Cheers.

Little bit off topic but what if your SACs are different between classes? I know in my school some teachers gave different sacs to their classes but they were all then standardised to the same marking scheme. Is your ranking then based on how you performed in your class, or against the whole school. If it is the latter doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of the ranking system when the sacs within a school were of varying difficulty?

i believe so, if your coming from a strong cohort. shinny got something along those lines, but his from MHS, a beastly cohort.

My business teacher said to me that you cannot drop a mark on the exam if you want a 50.
I don't know how factual this is but it sounds right.
