hey,
If you ask one of the accessors for some scrap paper will they give it to you, or is the only allowed working out space on the sides of the questions in the exam booklet (as i like lots of space to work things out on) ?

thanks

I haven't done the UMAT before but reading from their website under Prohibited items, they say:
Quote
You may bring a bottle of drinking water into the test centre with you. All other equipment, such as note paper, pencil cases, rulers, coloured pencils, scissors, etc. are prohibited and their use will be considered an act of unethical behaviour.  Mobile phones, calculators, stopwatches, dictionaries, audio or recording devices of any kind, food and bags will not be permitted in the test room. There will be only limited facilities for the storage of personal belongings at the test centres.  You are advised to bring only essential items, as neither the test centre nor the UMAT Office can be held responsible for the security of your belongings.
Judging by the statement they have on their website, I'd say it'd just be the booklet (probably need somebody who has done the UMAt to clarify though)

I don't think we were given scrap paper this year, but we were allowed to write in the question booklet. If you're doing online tests like medentry, I would still recommend using scrap paper to work out questions (especially S3) :)

You can only use the space in the question booklet to do working out.

I can confirm that you definitely will not be given scrap paper and will only have your booklet to work with. That being said I have never had any issues or heard of anyone having any issues of running out of space. This is a question I get asked a lot of times but no one as far as I know runs out of working out space - and that is considering the fact that as a tutor I am always pushing people to work out more and scribble everywhere.  I consider myself to be one of the heaviest annotators and there was enough room for me, so you should be fine :)
