Absolutely :)
Although there are also other prerequisites such as GAMSAT and an MMI (multi mini interview)

Absolutely! 97.80 is a great score! Especially if you have been involved in extra curricular activities or went to an underrepresented school, etc.
Either way, I know students who got in with scores of 97.3.. So yes definitely and there also many other opportunities available as well :) Best of luck & congratulations on your incredible score!

Sorry but your chance is very low. Last year clear in was 99 and there were only a few who got in with high 98s (98.90 to be precise)
[2011] Maths Methods CAS
[2012] English (EAL), Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Specialist Maths
[2013]-[2017] Monash University - Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (Hons.) V

Do you have a SEAS application that meets the guarantee? (financial disadvantage or rural)

There are exceptions though.. For example, people who went to underrepresented schools, etc. and applied for seas (as Russ mentioned) have an equal chance if I'm not mistaken.

I applied for SEAS under financial problems however the main focus on the application was the difficult circumstances near exam time as my father passed away. Would that help for access melbourne?.

I'm really sorry about your loss. Despite that, to achieve that great result, it's definitely going to increase your chances- have you mentioned it to them?
And you have applied for SEAS then you should be fine.
But don't lose hope, I'm sure that you'll be offered your desired course. Even if it doesn't happen now, it will in the end :)

If you meet the criteria for financial disadvantage then UoM guarantee you a place in biomedicine with an ATAR > 92 (or similar, they keep changing it and it's too hot to go look it up lol).

SEAS in general will allow you to get in with a lower score but there are no guarantees, since each application is subjectively assessed.

All the best.

Yes you can do medicine after this degree.
You need to pass/do well in the GAMSAT and MMI like everybody else.
If you want to apply for Medicine at Melbourne Uni specifically you also have to take the three specific prerequisite subjects during your undergrad (Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry).
If you don't get in with your ATAR you can also do a Bachelor of Science pathway in Bioengineering Systems too.
If you don't get into Medicine you can either do Honours for a year and try again or you can go into the 2-year Masters of Biomedical Engineering which follows the Bioengineering Systems major.
2008 - 2010 | Bachelor of Production @ Victorian College of the Arts
2013 - 2015 | Bachelor of Science @ UoM (Bioengineering Systems)
2016 - 2017 | Master of Engineering (Biomedical) @ UoM
