Got official offer:) So excited! The search on the Age shows there's at 33 ppl in the Chancellor Scholars Program (excl. those who chose not to have their offers published).
We can only accept offer and start enrolling from 20th Jan right? Did some of you get contacted by a student currently in the program?

Haha yep me too I opted out of the offer being published :)
How was your student mentor? It might even be one of those we've talked to here on the forum!
Ok so it's just different with unimelb...everyone else is enrolling, some got their timetables already. And did you have a look at the breadth subjects? There're so many choices!

My student mentor was nice.

I've already decided I'm doing Italian as breadth. I'm assuming I'll start with Italian 3 since I stopped at the end of Year 11.

I got into UoM BBiomed through SEAS. I only JUST got an ATAR of above 95. Will I have a tough time in this course?

In what way?

If you're referring to the academic side of things, I don't really think so. As many have already said, ATARs do not give a real indication of performance at university at all. Remember, the clearly in only represents demand for the course, not its relative difficulty. Unlike VCE, you also won't be in direct competition with the other students in your cohort when it comes to university marks, so even if the others do better than you, that doesn't really matter - only what you get does.

If you mean socially, again, I don't think that will be the case. I don't think people will really be talking about their ATAR at university and I've heard that those that do are generally dismissed. The same would probably happen if someone directly put you down for the score you got.

Whatever the case, please hold your head up high. You've gotten into the course now and that's all that matters. Anyway, I really look forward to seeing you around this year. Congratulations. :)
